Fire Door Inspections and Reporting

Fire Doors are a critical component of a health and safety strategy for any purpose building to prevent, contain, and minimise damage to a property or its occupants in the event of a fire. Frequent testing of this important fire safety mechanism is integral to complying with current legislation and keeping the property and its people safe. It is also mandated by law.

Residential or commercial legislation stipulates that the building owner is responsible for the health and safety of all those who enter a building. Fire doors must be inspected and tested every 6 months, and accredited documents must be available for inspection at any time, to certify that the fire doors operate within the current safety guidelines. Health and Safety inspectors, particularly Fire Officers, are conducting more frequent checks on all aspects of safety in occupied buildings with a noticeable increase in the observation of non-compliant fire doors in recent years. Increasingly, Insurance providers also request evidence of fire safety testing to ensure compliance before approving or declining a policy.

Our Fire Door Assessment team has undergone extensive training and certification to become Fully Certified Inspectors through  BM TRADA, in the maintenance of Fire Doors. This offers reassurance to our clients that the product they have installed has been maintained correctly and should perform as intended.

During our thorough inspection, each door onsite will be examined thoroughly with a thorough inspection report issued to you after the service detailing the findings on each door tested including details of wear and tear, recommended maintenance required, and proposed retesting dates.

The inspection entails the following:
